Story Tech 4 : Optimized Shielding
4. Shielding
Applying near-100% shielding to a cable offers certain advantages, but it also has drawbacks. Conversely, unshielded cables have their own set of pros and cons.
Theoretically, a cable with 100% shielding might seem perfect, but in actual listening tests, near-total shielding can cause the loss of certain sonic nuances. However, excessive shielding can be beneficial when a specific part of the sound needs to be suppressed depending on the audio system.
At Athenamuse, we have prototyped and tested numerous configurations to determine the optimal shielding for each cable type and shape. We apply the most sonically optimized shielding for every specific product.
